I really need to start sketching more. Or at least sketching something substantial. Especially because I'm hopeing to make a little sketchbook on lulu.com. But first...commissions. UG too many.

This was a commission for a good friend of mine. I adore drawing flowy hair , even if it dosnt make much sense lol.

I've been neglecting my blog so heres a bunch of new art ranging from personal to gifts to commissions.

The first two I did for contests on gaiaonline.com , just for fun :)

These were some more commissions from gaia , just of headshots because I liked useing solid colors.

It was fun working on toot and puddle . I drew this pic for a friend because his daughter's fav character is toot. So I drew toot and her river rafting ( Im sure its possible for a 4 year old to river raft thank you VERY much )

These next two are IRl commissions. The colored one took me OH so long to do . I hate inking on the computer..it takes forever !

I LOVE FF9 so I drew some fanart of the lesser known girls - Ruby, Erin and Lani

And 2 characters I've had since highschool. I just recently revamped them to make them look less..animu..neko-chan..ect haha. I was in gr 9, give me a break :p

And a pic I forgot to upload last time. Saw her at the busstop, I still consider all of this a fashion DONT but its interesting to draw lol.

Final Flim : Character Designs / and doodles

WOW lack of updates , well for now i'll post my finalized character designs - later on when i fix up my leica i'll post that as well :)

from concept to final design , phife didnt stray far - i gave her more of a flame then a ' cream puff' type hair style lol , less weight ect - i also worked out some kinks in her face :) but her idea stayed pretty much the same

Mosiac was a bit more of a challenge , he went through so many changes from my concepts ( which were so different from eachother ) . Especally his hair , i wanted to make him so much more spikey but , me and my teacher were baffeled about how to rotate what i had in mind - so i simplified it and gave him a widows peak. I also made him as SNOTTY as I could , and i hope i pulled it off - his expressions are really fun to draw :)

i didnt upload his poses and expressions because..well , i did them at the last minute and theres some iffyness i wanna work out first :)

overall , im very happy with how they came out ! super fun to draw for the storyboards , and i cant wait to start animating them :) both pose different challenges . mosiac because hes very precise and thoughtful so his movements are slower - phife because shes always moveing and flickery , ( i cant wait to experiment with wipes!)

ahhhh elements - oh stop me from gushing about things i probably wont be able to pull off lol.

WELL lack of updates as per usual

but school has just started so i have an excuse ! kind of - not really. Anyhow , Most of what I'll be posting from now on are the sketches / layouts / concepts for my short film - which is getting teacher approval ! hurray !

this semester is design / scripts / storyboarding / leica ect. I'll be posting the different stages when they are done ! by the end of this week I will have my concept art up :)

The first two are for Russ - the first one is an expression we always tend to have around each other , usually followed by ' i hate you ' or ' you're a jerk ' :D its healthy ! the 2nd one is totally inspired by his art , so i drew it for him.

SCHOOL IS OVER ! time for part time job and rent paying , OI ! but after seeing the grad openhouse i cant WAIT for 3rd year :D ! EXCITED IS ALL OVER ME

PLUS ! ee , dureing the schools demo reel i saw 5 THINGS THAT WERE MINE ! that was a total shock and surprise ! :D i got an animation in there ( you'll see it in the storyboard below whenshe flips back ) a centaur girl that will also be on this post - and my skeleton / character rotation as well as the gypsy commission i did that are on earlier posts - that blew my mind :0 - ahh i love all my teachers - they are all the greatist and..gently push me or kick me in the ass to do my best stuff lol.

anyway , here is some stuff i did for school - my fight storyboard with animation for my final cut into it ( im not posting the whole storyboard cuz..the beginning and the end i did like..a couple of nights before they were due..NOT A GOOD IDEA )

and the dialog scene from kinda just before the fight starts - i wish i had time to fix all the problems that there are - still , its the most complete dialog scene ive ever done !

turns out that none of the 2nd years get art in the ' fine tooning ' book this year. i understand the costs are too high on account of all the colored pages for the 3rd years - but it really bums me out. its no ones fault really , but i was super excited to have my pages ( in the post below this one ) shown in it and hopefully shown to the studios , looks like thats not gonna happen.

bums me out so much i cant even draw a decent ' im bummed out ' picture , my inspiration is kinda sucked dry.

so i'll post some doodles and my ...not really nicely rotated character sheets ,but hay , gotta post somthing right ? ahh i wish i didnt leave these so late (*2daysbeforeitsdue*coughcough*) but ..EHHHHEH ^^;;

Final Design

We did some character design in design class - i drew about..15 characters , and then combined the ones my teacher liked to make this one

after i scan the rest of the others i'll post them here too. im kinda stressed on account of school , my final is 10 seconds long BUT it was my fav scenes of my storyboard ( damn...damn i love storyboard )

ALSO some guys from collideascope studios in halifax came to our school - Verryyy cool guys - totally inspired me to go get flash 8.

hopefully i can do some flash animation over the summer - i was going to be doing some storyboards based on some Broadway music ( from Wicked actually ) but ..now if it goes well i'll cut in some animation to the leica reel.

oh - and on another note. I finally saw 300 on the weekend ( I had to wait for it , it was my friends birthday )

now this is my new msn picture - ...damn those spartan doctors are hot huh?

this project has caused 3 allnighters within the past week - im getting used to this insanity ! :D well , im DONE. it may not be great ,but its better then what i usually do (owch , what does that say about me lol ) so i guess i'll show you guys anyhow.

so - a pan bg..mayan tribal themed..turns out im not origonal afterall lol. I really only like the Right side of it - the left was...kinda when im getting to about 3 in the morning and im ready to die lol. i wish i could upload bigger but photobucked has its damn limits.

Bgs are my TOTAL kryptonite - it takes me so long to do them. But ..eh , i just hope this is a pass lol

but thats not all folks ! in this killer stayupallnightforever project we did a flying machine ,crashed flying machine , a crash site and animation keys ( which i did not get done..yay ) You will never see the crashed machine or crash site..as in i did those very last and my linequality is worse then what im posting ( which is a clean rough rather then a rough clean lol )

next project is characters , which i am EXITED to do !

I've been neglecting my fair sketchblog - sadly ive been busy with school and other various things. Alot of my work is so ...watereddowninternet style i could almost barf.

unfortunatly I've gotten into 'gaiaonline' alot lately again - i dont feel my work is 'sketchblog' worthy , but here are a couple 'o things ive drawn , just to keep it alive.

Reworking of an old character - that looks like alot of other characters ..hmmmm.

3 oekakis i did - and for those who dont know.Oekaki is an online drawing board , very simple , almost like MSpaint but with different options and layers. I find it fun to dabble in .

Last 2 are characters of friends - please ignore cheesy line in the middle one - that was a line from her writings.

Hopefully soon i'll have a day over spring break to go through my sketchbook and have a scan fest.

Ok ,this is my design final , it came back to me with tons of red all over it - hurray for millions of mistakes. This is what i pulled an allnighter for , i pretty much spent most of my time on my house - its suppose to be a ' haunted house ' but i dont know if i pulled that off lol .

and some girls - we could choose from different time periods for another design assignment and i got into the groove of the outfits.

and just random sketches of a character im working on for a story with my friend Nell. I scanned it for a sketchbook assignment so i figure i'll post it here too.

Wild Things

Wolverine run cycle for school. All in all theres TONS of things I would like to change , the hair..which i slapped on last minute , fix the jacket and the movement on the hand and make the head rotate from side to side a bit ..oh and volume changes..EEK. so many things.

All in all tho, it turned out ok , considering animation isint my strong suit at school and i failed my walk cycles last year lol. Well , it leads to an animated gif. Its cycled 3 times then the GIF repeats so theres a lil pause there that i couldnt fix.

its really intimidateing to upload one of my animations..cuz I struggle with them and there are so many people in the industry around here ! EEK.

Drew this for a sick friend :) her character. Inspired by rodolphe guenoden , hes got great girly sketches and I loved the pose on one of em , i had to try it out ..but tweak it of course lol.

RUN , HIDE ! SCHOOL HAS STOLEN MY SOUL AND IT WILL STEAL YOURS TOO ! I have spent almost all the spare time I have doing hw and animation and I still feel like im behind. Hurray for no sleep this weekend :D

I was eating on break today and went to see the algonquin newspaper and it had an artical about Chris Dainty , which was super cool to see a story on a grad from the program I was taking. And they gave a link to his and Jessica Borutski 's blog - saWEET. I recall seeing her ' i love pandas ' video last year ( but then again who hasnt seen it ? :0 if you haven't your lame...just.kiddin..but honestly..really ) Go see all the wicked work they're doing ! SUPER..super inspiring.

im kinda getting tired of drawing cute stuff. So ..ive taken up drawing more curvey chicks..

first one is for a mascot contest on a girls club on deviantart..more spasifically..a girls drawing girls club lol. I tried to make her sexy but soft , sassy but young ( not TOO young tho lol ) , and i tried to appeal to anthro and anime fans alike ( since they make up the majordy of the club ), but still have a realistic weight to her. Trying to cover all angles lol , and i hope i pulled it off. Still a WIP of course

this one..is just somthing for myself. A dooodle that turned into somthing completely different , i wanted to make the back one (shes an eel , imma add lil electric zaps later ) a lil heavier , and .. YES i know her boobs are big. But i wanted to make her weight match her endowments a little , plus i added bigger nipples. All you see is these..cute lil pink nipples all over pictures , so , i wanted to go against the grade and against what i usually draw.

p.s , i know the girl with the curly hair in the first one and the 2nd one are similar..i think its because im not completely satisfyed with the first one lol

any suggetions would be greatly appreachated :D these are still WIPS and..well..im not usedto drawing ..WOMEN , im used to drawing..cute lil..chibi..things..and..cute..yeah

WOW ! first year of school over :D how fun was that ! although its nice to have a break , im sure i'll be pineing for the animation lab again. Me and my friend ben are planning to make a 'how to survive animation 1st year ' phamplet complete with energy drink stats and such lol.

anyway , onto the sketches :D these 1st two are coimssions for this dood , just lil chibi easy things ,but i have to admit , the raven/starfire one was fun to draw lol.

now these were lil thumbnail sketches i did for my final design project. I really liked her attitude but unforunatly got pressured to go a different way from the kittykat.

CDD - Design 1

remember that sketchdump i promised ? yeah...no. School happened , strike happened , me being in the class every waking minute happened.

BUT i know what my design assignments are. So i kinda wanted a little head start on my final , which is design a character in either a) bruce tim style or b) cats dont dance style and do a full character rotation and dynamic poses. Of course , loveing cute animal chars i chose b of course lol.

im kinda playing around with some ideas for a character that well...i was suppose to rp with my friend but i dont do it really anymore. I just kinda did some sketches that led me away from my origonal idea ,which is to have her really mature and willowy looking , cold , ect. She just kinda got younger , so. This is my question to you guys

Do you think she looks more interesting younger or..kinda older like , 15ish . I still havent finalized her design , but i'd like some imput into whta kinda structure she should have :)

So, Ive tweaked the layout after much frustration and guessing. And I heart the color scheme greatly. For all of you people out there who have a hard time with colors like me , This is a handy little thing. Play around with it, its quite fun :)
